Last month, I started a power bank retail online – Satao. Its mission is to provide high end, high quality and high-tech power banks available in the market. Of course, since I am selling power banks, I need to learn and study power banks technology. Additionally, some of my clients also ask specific functions that I need to answer promptly. In this article, I will share what I learned so far in power bank technology that you need to know before buying yours. Let’s star!
1. Quality comes with the price.

Before I sell a power bank, I used the brand myself, of course, not all the power bank model but at least two models of the brand and I assessed the power bank performance personally. I found out that the higher the price, the better quality. However, based on my experience and customers review, some brands have a higher quality at much affordable price such as Energizer and Aukey . Furthermore, be careful on buying class A products specially in Shopee. Some of the power banks are just copy cut and not really a genuine unit from a power bank company. To ensure quality buy on legit store or message me in my Facebook page RBPareja.
2. Milli-ampere hour (mAh) measures capacity of your power bank.

The rule of thumb is that the higher the mAh, the higher the capacity of your power bank. Based on experience, 10000mAh can recharge your smartphones up to 4 times and 20000mAh up to 8 times. The dimension of the power bank was also affected by its capacity. The higher the mAh of the power bank, expect it to be bigger and much thicker compare to lower one. If you want a slim and light power bank buy 5000mAh which is enough to power your mobile phone for up to two days.
3. Fast charge and Quick Charge 3.0 functionality.

The normal charging voltage and current is 5V and 1A. For my smartphone Samsung J4, the battery capacity is 3000mAh and the charging time using the normal charger is 3 hours, 3000 divided (1A * 1000) equals 3. For a power bank with 10000mAh, it requires 10 hours of charging using 1A charger. Fast charger can give up to 2.1 A which means it can charge my phone for only 1.5hrs instead of 3 hrs. Most of the power banks from Energizer has fast charging ability. What about Quick Charge 3.0 or QC 3.0? QC 3.0 power banks can give up to 3A which means that my phone with 3000mAh can charge within an hour. You must know that most of our smartphones can only charge in fast charge mode (2A) not in QC 3.0. Only high-end smartphones have a built-in circuitry for QC 3.0 such as Samsung S6 and above. To know if your phone is QC 3.0 compatible check this site.
4. Brand matters.
I am selling Energizer because I am a fan of this brand. They are pioneer in battery industry and I know they have one of the best batteries in the market. However, if you don’t like the designs of Energizer, I can recommend some American brands I know has the same quality with Energizer such as Aukey, Mophie and Anker. Never be tempted to buy power banks less than 500 pesos in Shopee, I know 500 is small but you are still wasting 500 pesos. If you really need power banks for your travel and every day commute visit my online shop, Satao, and choose the power bank you will be proud to carry in your everyday grind. Stay fully charge. Unleashed the power within.
